WASHINGTON. — The Frederick Douglass Foundation (FDF) is honored to announce its designation as an America250 Supporting Partner as the nation prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.

America250, the nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, is working to engage Americans nationwide in meaningful reflection, education, and civic participation leading up to the Semiquincentennial.

Through this designation, the Frederick Douglass Foundation will support America250’s efforts by contributing educational programming and public engagement initiatives that reflect the enduring legacy of Frederick Douglass and the expansion of liberty in American history.

Statement from Troy Rolling, Chairman, Frederick Douglass Foundation

“As Chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, I’m honored to serve as an America250 Supporting Partner. This partnership gives us a national platform to highlight the contributions of Black Americans and to remind the country of the promise of America that Frederick Douglass championed. As we approach the Semiquincentennial, our focus is to help communities stay informed, inspired, and engaged in our nation’s civic life.”

“America250 is proud to welcome the Frederick Douglass Foundation as a Supporting Partner as we prepare to commemorate our nation’s Semiquincentennial. Frederick Douglass challenged America to live up to its founding ideals, and this partnership helps ensure that his legacy—and the ongoing expansion of liberty in our history—remains central to our national reflection as we approach 2026,” said Jennifer Condon, Executive Vice President at America250.”
